Xiaomi ships a new 10,000mAh magnetic power bank as China tightens battery safety rules

Xiaomi has launched a redesigned 10,000mAh magnetic power bank in China, giving the company a fresh battery-focused product release just as the country moves toward tighter mobile power safety requirements. The new magnetic charger combines wired and wireless output with added safety and battery-health features, and it is already on sale in the domestic market.

Xiaomi’s 2026 magnetic power bank goes on sale in China

The device, called the Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 10000 7.5W 2026 Edition, was unveiled on April 8, 2026. Xiaomi is positioning it as a practical charging accessory rather than a showcase product, but the update is notable because it arrives with a redesigned battery cell and a broader set of protections than earlier versions.

The power bank supports up to 33W wired output and up to 15W wireless charging, with wired input rated up to 30W. Xiaomi says the unit can charge up to three devices at once through a mix of wired and wireless connections.

Battery-health checks are now part of the accessory

One of the most unusual additions is battery-health visibility. Xiaomi says users can check battery status through a connected system, and the device includes a digital display that shows charge level, charging state and alerts. The company also prints a recommended five-year usage period on the product, reflecting a more explicit approach to battery lifecycle management than is common on consumer chargers.

The power bank is built around multiple layers of hardware and circuit-level protection, including safeguards for heat exposure, overcharging and physical stress. Xiaomi says the design is intended to align with new mobile power safety regulations that are expected to take effect in 2027.

A small release with bigger regulatory context

The timing matters because China’s mobile power sector is under mounting pressure to improve safety and traceability after a series of battery-related incidents in the broader accessories market. Xiaomi’s decision to market a product that highlights compliance, diagnostic visibility and replacement timing suggests the company wants its charging accessories to look more controlled and more future-proof than basic commodity power banks.

For Xiaomi, the release is a narrow but concrete commercialization step: a consumer battery accessory with added monitoring, stronger protection language and a clear regulatory frame. It is not a breakthrough cell chemistry story, but it is a real sign of how battery safety is being packaged into everyday hardware in 2026.
